An ophthalmologist since 1998, Dr Dr Agnieszka Kudasiewicz-Kardaszewska co-founded and leads the Prof. Zagórski Eye Surgery Center in Nowy Sącz. She earned her PhD with distinction in 2001, researching rhodopsin gene mutations in retinitis pigmentosa. Author of 30+ publications, including ophthalmology textbooks, she trained in micro-surgery across Europe. Dr. Başak Bostancı, Associate Professor, graduated from the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2007. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital in 2012, with a thesis focusing on multifocal intraocular lenses. In 2011, she gained valuable experience as a research fellow in cataract and anterior segment surgery at UCLA-affiliated Advanced Vision Care, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Samuel Masket in the United States.

Dr. Laura Escudero is an ophthalmologist at Clínica Baviera Palma de Mallorca, specializing in Refractive, Presbyopia, and Cataract Surgery. She also works in public healthcare and holds a Master’s in Clinical Ophthalmology from CEU Cardenal Herrera University, with specialized training in Glaucoma, Pediatric Ocular Pathology, and Retina. Dr Lourens van Zyl the principal ophthalmologists at Crystal Eye and Laser Centre, Perth. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and completed his ophthalmology training in Adelaide, South Australia. He holds fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa and the European Board of Ophthalmology.

He has a special interest in laser eye surgery and advance vision correction including cataracts. He has postgraduate fellowships in Advance Corneal and Anterior Segment surgery and Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Following his postgraduate fellowships, Dr Lourens completed a 1 year post graduate diploma followed by a 3-year master's degree in cataract and refractive surgery through the University of Sydney. Dr van Zyl was admitted to the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Sciences in 2023.

Dr. Luis Cadarso Suárez is a distinguished ophthalmologist with over three decades of experience. He pioneered cataract surgery via phacoemulsification in 1992 and has been an expert in refractive surgery since 1995. He founded Clínica Cadarso in Vigo in 1997, now Vithas Clínica Cadarso, a leading center in Galicia and northern Portugal. Dr. Cadarso holds a cum laude doctorate from the University of Santiago de Compostela and has significantly contributed to ophthalmic education and research.

Dr. med. Lutz Blomberg is co-founder and chief medical officer of the Eye Center Hildesheim-Alfeld-Bockenem at the Medicinum Hildesheim. He has over 20 years of expertise in anterior and posterior segment surgery, also over 10 years expertise as a consultant in the University eye clinic of Hannover, such as cataract, corneal, refractive and posterior segment surgery. He is one of the first adopters of NanoLaser-cataract surgery in Germany. Dr. Blomberg is CMO of the DGFG Cornea Bank in Hanover and a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Rossiter-Thornton is a skilled anterior segment and cataract surgeon specializing in refractive, multifocal, and complex cataract surgery, iStent insertion, and secondary sulcus lenses for refractive correction and multifocality. Consulting in Manly and Sutherland, he provides comprehensive ophthalmic care, including treatment for eyelid and corneal disorders, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and LASIK/PRK. A Sydney University graduate with Honours, he holds two Masters degrees, lectures at the university, and contributes to ophthalmic training and aid programs in Southeast Asia.

Purvi is a specialist optometrist with extensive experience since qualifying in 2004. She managed a high street practice for seven years before moving into hospital optometry. Since 2019, she has been the lead optometrist at OCL Vision. Her expertise includes vision correction procedures such as laser eye surgery and refractive lens exchange. She has a strong interest in ocular surface disease and gained her independent prescribing qualification in 2020. Purvi also fits specialist contact lenses at Luton and Dunstable NHS Hospital.

Mr Samer Hamada is a founder and medical director of Eye Clinic London and a leading ophthalmic surgeon with over 25 years of expertise in corneal and refractive surgery, ocular surface disease, and complex anterior segment disorders. A pioneer in DMEK surgery and he has advanced the field with innovative techniques in lamellar grafts, ICL and RLE procedures, and biological treatments for dry eyes and MGD. Deborah is the Advanced Technology Specialist for the UK and Ireland looking after our premium portfolio of IOLs including Galaxy and Galaxy toric. She has over 15 years experience working with IOLs, and over 2 years specifically with the Rayner premium lenses. As such she has been involved with Galaxy since the First In Eye in July 2024 and can share her knowledge of how the lenses work, alongside how to optimise outcomes and gain the best results for your patients.

Sam Carter is a presbyopia-correcting IOL expert with over 18 years of experience in the ophthalmic device industry. He currently leads Clinical Planning and Outcomes at Rayner Intraocular Lenses, focusing on patient selection and complex case support. Sam has worked with top companies like Carl Zeiss Meditec and Topcon UK, and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery (Distinction) from Ulster University. He is a sought-after speaker at international ophthalmic congresses.

Stephen Taylor is the Advanced Technology Director for Europe at Rayner. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery (PGDipCRS) from Ulster University, highlighting his expertise in advanced ophthalmic technologies. Stephen’s role at Rayner focuses on integrating cutting-edge advancements in cataract and refractive surgery across European markets, enhancing patient outcomes and driving innovation in the field.

Advanced technology specialist for Spain and Portugal, promoting Rayner’s premium lens portfolio and digital health solutions. Joined Rayner in January 2024 after five years in clinical patient care and surgical assistance, where expertise in premium lenses began. Willy Zauser is a skilled sales and technology professional specializing in ophthalmology and medical optics. As Advanced Technology Specialist DACH at Rayner, he is responsible for promoting and implementing advanced intraocular lens technologies across the region. His previous roles at Rayner include Senior Territory Manager South and Digital Champion DACH. With over ten years of industry experience, he has worked at mark’ennovy, Wetzlich Optik, Kuttner Medizinelektronik, and eyes + more. A certified Master Optician, he trained at Optonia and the Academy for Optometry in Munich.
